The smoothly swept claws were borrowed from the 999 Rip Hammer, while the extra large striking face, hatchet eye, and sturdy handle are a heritage of the Rigbuilder's Hatchet. The hatchet style handle is made from the best grade second growth hickory. To provide extra strength, the handle has a large cross section where it joins the fully polished head.
