The bright white material brightens paint areas which improves visibility for color matching and coverage. When used for surface protection, the bright white material can make it easier to find dropped nuts, bolts, and hardware. A related product, 3M™ Dirt Trap Protection Film (sold separately) is an adhesive-backed clear film designed to protect lights, windows, and other surfaces from overspray buildup.
