This valve body is made of brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. Brass can be connected to copper, brass, plastic, aluminum, and welded steel. This valve has a zinc-plated steel lever handle with a vinyl sleeve for manual on/off control. The memory stop provides an adjustable stop when the valve is used in a balancing application. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seats and stem packing reduce the risk of leakage. The valve is full port for reduced friction; its inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the connecting pipe for maximum operating efficiency. This valve has female NPT threads for connecting to male threaded pipes, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. The maximum pressure rating is 600 pounds per square inch (gauge) (psig) for water, oil, and gas (WOG), 150 psig for saturated steam, and the working temperature range is 0 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
