The Dorma 8916 architectural grade closer is designed to conform to the aesthetic qualities required in certain applications. The features include a modern style, slim cover, a flat form arm and a pleasing architectural aluminum finish. All this without compromising on superior quality which is backed by a 25 year warranty. The benefits of the parallel arm mount is a door closer has an arm assembly that extends almost parallel to the door and is mounted on the push side of the door. There is very little or no hardware showing or projecting beyond the frame face (in most situations) when the door is in the closed position. In vandalism prone areas this could be extremely beneficial. However, the arm may be about 25% less power-efficient than a regular arm application due to the arms geometry. This eye pleasing superior door closer also meets quality and safety standards. CSFM approved, U.L. & C.U.L. listed. Meets ANSI A156.4 grade 1 requirements, ANSI A117.1 and ADA requirements for barrierless accessibility, (opening force on exterior doors: 8.5 lbs. or less, interior doors: 5 lbs. or less). Meets UL10C and UBC 7.2 (1997). Is independently certified for 10 million cycles and carries a 25 year limited warranty.
