1 pound bag, 454 grams, of 100% Chinese Smilax Rhizome, also known as Sarsaparilla Root. Tu Fu Ling is the Pin Yin name. Smilax Glabra; Rhizoma is the botanical name. The pieces of root are sliced evenly, at approximately 1/8 inch thick. The rounds are irregularly shaped and pieces vary from 1/2" to 2" across. Sarsaparilla Root has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine as an herb that Clears Heat and Resolves Toxicity. It reduces toxicity and dampness which will help support joint function and support normal urination. It also helps clear damp-heat from the skin. Smilax enters the Liver and Stomach channels. Sarsaparilla root is also discussed in the book Healing Lyme, by Stephen Buhner. This is an authentic nuherbs Brand registered trademark product.
