The Vikings were a rough and tumble group who loved mead and ale almost as much as they loved battle! Of course, Viking drink ware was suitably ferocious, often being made from horns, just like this Medieval Viking Norwegian Drinking Horn with Stand appears to be. This drinking horn has a rich, polished looks that really makes it look like traditional horn straight from an old Viking village and are made from 100% original Cow horns. With a length 12 inches and an approximate circumference of 9 inches at the rim. This historical replica piece also comes equipped with a black finish iron stand which is twisted and offers a great medieval Viking accented piece to display in your home or office. * Please not there may be a slight odor as this is a natural item. The color and shape may vary and may not be exactly like the picture. Item may have minor scratches due to buffing and natural material. When measuring this item we measure it at the spine. This is an all-natural item and you will need to coat inside with beeswax. In order to do this you will melt the beeswax and pour it in the horn. Wait for it to dry and then pull it out. Please wash with a gentle detergent and polish with vegetable oil to keep it from drying out. And from time to time you will want to use beeswax to coat the inside to keep from cracking. Please do not use hot liquids in this item. The Following 5 steps are being generally followed during the manufacturing process of drinking horns: a) Selecting an appropriate horn. b) Sanding the horn from the outside. c) Washing with hot water. d) Coating for the inside to make it 100% safe for usage. e) Polishing. All of our horns are boiling water proof and are polished to give a smooth finish. Wiping the horns with some vegetable oil occasionally will help increase the life of your possession. Since these are made from natural materials, the color shades and sizes made vary from piece to piece.
