When energized, it will open fully in 3-5 seconds. Since this valve is a normally closed (N/C) ball valve, it will automatically return to a closed position when the power source is eliminated. When fully opened, a limit switch keeps the amount of power used by the valve to a miniscule levels. This makes it a much more environmentally friendly option than most solenoid valves. Most solenoid valves are fully energized when opened, which can lead to problems and overheating when run continuously.
