Size:1 Make your ammo can - Lockable and Safe. One Piece 1/2 Solid Stainless Steel Stud and 5/16" Threads (Made in the USA) No thread locker compound needed. Ammo Can Waterproofing stays intact. The stud is secured with a nylon lock-nut that is Grade 8 Steel (zinc plated) thus eliminating the need for any thread locking compound. The watertight integrity of the can stays intact because we include a Neoprene Washer that goes on the inside (or outside) . The large and small washers included are all steel and zinc plated for rust protection. The padlock stud will take up to a 1/4" lock shackle. This product has a 100% guarantee. If for any reason it doesnt meet your expectations, return it for a full refund.Do it yourself instructions:Close the lid and latch of the ammo can and mark the center of the hole where the locking hardware will be installed (try to be exact).Drill a 5/16" hole into the can at the center of the mark (drilling out a smaller guide hole beforehand may be helpful). From the outside of the can, insert the locking stud through the drill hole.On the inside of the can, put the neoprene washer over the threads of the locking stud, followed by the small washer, and then the nylon lock nut.Tighten the assembly with a wrench being aware that the "round" side of the locking stud may have shart edges/burs, so on "round" side do not use bare hands. For ammo cans with large holes, put the large washer between the ammo can's latch and the padlock in order to prevent the large latch hole from slipping over the padlock. If you finish the assembly and find the locking stud is not centered, simply file or drill the ammo can's latch holes to be larger until the latches properly fit the locking stud. Thread locking compounds are not needed for this design, but can be used.
