상품설명
Part of the Gyokucho Fugaku range of folding Japanese saws, this Dozuki provides a new option for woodworkers looking for the best of both worlds - the efficiency and accuracy of Japanese saws coupled with the solidity and feel of a western backsaw. Used for cutting joinery in frames and cabinets this blade has crosscut teeth and a rounded tip of rip teeth designed for starting cuts in the middle of the panel. It is ideal for halving joints, mitres, laps and saddles, as well as cutting components accurately to length. The solid beech handles are carefully crafted from selected quartersawn timber, for stability, and finished with a satin Japanese lacquer. To make sure there is no chance of the saw folding up in use, it is locked into the extended position with a sprung lever, much like that of a lock knife. The spine is slightly heavier than the ones fitted to standard Gyokucho saws, which along with the weight of the folding mechanism and the solid beech handle gives the saw a sturdy but balanced feel. As with all Gyokucho saws, although the replaceable blades are electroless nickel plated and designed to give several years of careful use, a light coat of oil from time to time will help to keep them clean and cutting smoothly.
