Originally issued in 1905 by the Banco de Mexico, the Mexican 5 Pesos Gold coin is the 3rd smallest denomination of the coin series. The most appropriate for a modest investment. The obverse of this gold bullion coin features Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla a great Mexican hero. Former pastor, helped leading an army of civilians during the Mexican War for Independence. The design is an accurate portrayal of this historical figure. The reverse depicts Mexico’s National Coat of Arms. A majestic Mexican Eagle is seen standing atop a prickly pear cactus strongly grappling against a serpent. The image represents the triumph of the righteous against their enemies.
