The main pole of the basketball hoop system is placed directly into the ground and secured with concrete. This concrete, combined with the steel pole, make this goal remarkably strong. Being directly installed into the concrete, the steel pole becomes susceptible to the moisture that comes with being underground. However, an additional layer of powder coating at the base of the pole protects that steel from corroding, providing an impenetrable barrier to keep your steel strong. The basketball hoop system comes complete with a backboard pad to offer protection during lay-ups and a break-away rim that flexes under pressure during a dunk.
