ICY DOCKs EZConvert MB705M2P-B is the complete solution to convert a M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD into a standard 2.5-inch U.2 (SFF-8639) NVMe SSD with exact dimensions, connection position and mounting holes. Designed with a view to high compatibility, this adapter takes all M.2 sizes from 30 mm to 80 mm length (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) and allows installation without screws or tools. This allows an effortless installation in any 2.5 inch U.2 NVMe backplanes, hot swap slots and 2.5 inch mounting frame as well as ICY DOCK's own U.2 NVMe SSD removable frame. The solid aluminium housing protects the sensitive M.2 SSDs from knocks and falls and acts as a heat sink in conjunction with the included heat conduction pads. So your SSDs remain cool and powerful even under heavy loads. Since M.2 SSDs were not designed for hot swap changes, their connections are particularly sensitive and usually designed for only 250 plug cycles. However, the EZConvert MB705M2P-B allows M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs to be changed via hot swap without using the internal connections. Instead, the connector used by ICY DOCK and rated at 10,000 plug cycles is used. Hot Swap change allows you to easily add, remove and replace drives without having to restart the system. EZConvert MB705M2P-B takes all 30 mm - 80 mm M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) and has exact dimensions, connection position and mounting holes such as a standard 9.5 mm U.2 NVMe SSD. The one-piece heatsink that can also be used as a top, can be attached and removed without screws or tools, and allows quick installation of an easy device. The thermal pad included can be glued to the underside of the aluminium lid to provide additional heat dissipation.
