Measure the length of lid Distance from the hinge point to the edge of thelid. The Extended Length of Gas Strut ≈50% of the Lengthof the Lid. E.G.length of lid is 30inchyou need a15 inch gas strut. STEP 2. Weigh the lid First method,unscrew the lid from the hinges and use a scale to weight. Second method,move the lid to 90 dgree,use a pole and bathroom scale to weigh at the mount point. Allow the weight of the lid through the pole to show a reading on the scales in Kg. STEP3. Calculate the pressure E.G. reading of 20Kg,1KG=10N,so a 20kg lid means that (G) equals 200N. Ifyou are goingtouse2xstruts onthelid you can halve the amount of pressureineach strut. We usually recommend a right angle bracket on the lid and a flat bracket within the boxor frame. Installation Warm Tips: .Gas Struts Very strong!
