Taytools unhandled burnishing rods are cost effective as no handle is included. These unhandled Taytools burnishers are available in either hardened polished high carbon steel or polished carbide. Hardened steel burnishers are perfectly capable of making good hooks, but carbide requires less pressure and effort and can turn hooks on harder scrapers. Hardened high carbon steel burnishers have a hardness of HRC 62-64. Carbide burnishers are much harder with hardness at HRC 92-94. Each rod comes with a vinyl tip.
