상품설명
This M-65 Fishtail Parka with a faux fur trimmed hood is a genuine vintage military-issue garment. Introduced to the US Army in early 50's, the fishtail parka was widely used by American soldiers to cope with the freezing conditions during the Korean War. Known as the M-1951 (or M-51), the fishtail parka was then replaced by its warmer and lighter version with a detachable hood - the M-1965 (M-65) fishtail parka. In the 60's the fishtail parka became a symbol of the mod subculture. Nowadays, although it has been replaced in the US military by the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS), the fishtail parka remains one of the most popular and recognizable military jacket models. The fabric on this parka is a nylon/cotton blend and its pockets are wool-lined to keep your hands warm and toasty. There is a storm flap over the zipper, adjustable closures on the sleeves, and drawstring closure by the waist and hem. The 80% cotton and 20% nylon hood is trimmed with synthetic fur ruff with two buttons for easy removal and attachment from the parka. The full length button-in quilted winter liner is also included with this parka. This type of coat can be tied around the upper legs for added wind protection thanks to the fact that it is longer at the back than at the front - hence the origin of the name, "fishtail."
