History: The San Felipe was launched in 1690 and was one of the most beautiful Spanish sailing ships of the seventeenth century. She is the battleship of the famous Spanish fleet. The San Felipe drained more than 1,000 tons and was equipped with 104 guns, allowing her to serve the most powerful battleships of the French and British navies. San Felipe’s role in the war with Britain and France was to help protect Spanish settlements and ports, transport treasures and protect long and dangerous passages back to Spanish ports. In 1705, she participated in a fierce battle between 12 Spanish warships and 35 British warships. After 24 hours of fighting, she was captured by a British spacecraft, but due to severe damage, she could not be saved as a prize. She dropped to the bottom of the sea with a few tons of gold.
