PBF is a lightweight Russian gas mask. It does not have a heavy metal intake or a hose. Instead, PBF soviot gas mask uses two light cheek filters mounted on each side of the mask similar to the US M17. Actually, it is widely believed that PBF is a Russian copy of M17 gas mask. PBF was developed for airborne troops and special forces. Main Features: The PBF's voice emitter and exhale valve are located behind the plastic cover on the front of the mask. Like some other Russian gas masks, the PBF's lenses are designed to be used by people who spend a lot of time looking into optical devices. A notable feature of this ussr mask is the fact that it has indentations meant to fit over the wearer's ears. The material in this area is also thinner for better hearing. You can look up the production year on the left side of the mask. Because of its shape and look the PBF was called hamster or gorilla mask. PBF can be seen in TV series Chernobyl. It's modified version is used in Stalker and other video games.
