The ’59 neck model is one of our most popular pickups because it’s so versatile. Like its bridge-position sibling, the ’59 neck is designed in the spirit of the original P.A.F. humbuckers of the 1950s, with sweet sustain, and a warm, full sound that still possesses a clear attack.
We’ve made a few refinements to slightly modernize the design and make it more adaptable to different styles. The high end is slightly boosted for improved pick-attack clarity and the mids are a little scooped for an open, smooth sound that’s great for preserving the clarity of the individual notes in a chord.
The ’59 neck was born to accompany the ’59 bridge, but countless players pair it with a high output bridge humbucker, such as a JB or Custom. It’s also a popular choice for humbucker-routed Telecasters.

Seymour Duncan SH-1N '59 Model Neck Humbucker - Nickle Cover. The Seymour Duncan SH1N is a faithful replicant of the 1959 PAF Patent Applied For humbucker, with a smooth and warm tone, with plenty of sustain. The SH1-N uses the same kind of Alnico magnets, plain enameled wire, braided single-conductor cable, nickel plated studs, wooden spacer, black paper tape, and balanced coil windings uses on the original PAF humbuckers. The neck version is warm with just the right amout of bass. These are a direct replacement for your current neck humbucker ensuring the guitar requires no modification. Wiring schematic and mounting screws are included. Single conductor Application: Versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker. Great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. Description: Late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. Warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones. Smooth sustain.
