For your consideration, we are offering for sale this 2005 Aurora Papa Beato (Blessed Pope) Limited Edition 341/1919 Fountain Pen fitted with an 18K Medium Nib. This fountain pen has never been inked and is considered in Mint Condition with boxes and limited edition Aurora literature and ink bottle.
This Aurora Papa Beato (Blessed Pope) Fountain Pen is a Limited Edition #0341 of 1919 that comes with the original boxes and literature. The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, scratches, or repairs. The gold-plated cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches, wear, or brassing. The limited edition number, 0341, is stamped into the cap banding, as photographed in the listing images. The Fountain Pen measures 5" capped, 6 1/4" posted, 15.85mm in diameter around the cap banding, and weighs 1.52 ounces.
The papal coat-of-arms engraved in the gold-plated cap shows the eagle, the first symbol known to have been used as an emblem by Pope Innocent III (1198-1216), and the other the cross with the letter "M", which stands for Mary, symbolizing the Pope elected in 1978. The barrel is made of a precious variegated marble-colored resin, specially created for Aurora, that evokes the columns of St. Peter's. This carefully and expertly hand-crafted writing instrument is made even more precious by the name XXV I Paulus II engraved on the ring between the clip and the top white agate jewel set into the head.
This Aurora Fountain Pen is in "like new" condition as it has never been inked. It is truly a New Old Stock Limited Edition Fountain Pen in MINT condition. Comes in the original Aurora boxes with an Aurora instruction/literature booklet and full ink bottle.
The nib is marked 18K/750 Aurora and has a medium point measuring .81mm when using digital calipers. I have not ink-tested or even dip-tested this fountain pen to make sure this fountain pen is absolutely in MINT condition for the new owner. I did test the piston filler with water and works as it is designed to.
