This is a vintage inkwell made of clear flint glass dating back to the 1870s produced by the Safety Ink Co. It is 2 3/4" high X 3" X 3". It weighs almost 2 pounds. It is handmade in the United States, and the base is covered with patent dates ranging from the 1860s to the 1870s. This unique inkwell is designed to be emptied and cleaned from the bottom. There is a cork in the emptying hole. The glass inkwell adds a touch of nostalgia to any workspace or home office; it makes a great paperweight. A must for any collection of inkwells. It is undamaged.
