This vintage HLD-581RH snare drum features some notable condition details to consider. The protrusion that secures the snappy (as shown in photo 20, red circle) is chipped. While it can still be used by increasing snappy tension and securing with tape, professional welding repair is recommended. The original broken piece is missing. Additionally, the bolt at the blue circle in photo 20 is a non-original replacement; the original knurled handle bolt has been replaced with a hex socket bolt requiring a metric hex wrench for adjustment. All 24 key bolts are original, but one of the 24 washers is a different type and some washers show minor rust. Aside from these issues, the shell and metal parts have minor nicks and scratches but remain in generally good condition. The parallel action strainer functions smoothly. Please note, the case and tuning key are not included. A dedicated flathead key and a metric hex wrench are recommended for adjustments.
