Cyrus interconnect 0.5m (modified) female 3.5mm jack to RCA phono (bullet) plugs

 I don't solder, so I'm afraid, in the block of oak is concealed a plastic, 3.5mm female TRS, tip, ring and sleeve, "Balun terminal"? (There's three screw fixtures, two live, left and right, and a common neutral, into which the Cyrus cable is clamped. All contacts surfaces were swabbed with Caig DeoxIt during construction.) The oak block was chiseled to lock just the end in place (with a small amount of acrylate just for immediate hold and finishing the end) as the rest of the internals were wrapped in a Teflon sleeve, before an epoxy resin was used to seal everything, hermetically like, before wood gluing the bottom on. The strain relief and non slip base is suade leather. (so, not suitable for vegetarians, sorry.) None of the front end will sit well with Eichmann's ethos, in more respects than just eddy currents, but the sound sits better with my ears than any of the handful of alternatives I tried before doing the extreme (including the latest, an Audioquest Golden gate, with a coupler. ) 

 The Eichmann Bullet plugs have seen a lot of use before ever I saw them. But I wouldn't hold that against them, these things only get better with age. And a clean contact is what yields the greatest connection anyway. 

 It's reason for being was the front end of a Temple Audio, Bantam Stealth amplifier. Into which I interchangeably play an old FiiO something or other, via a headphones amp, and 1m Audioquest Sidney jumper, or a Bluetooth receiver. (Even at this lowley level, cables are inexorably meaningful imo (and experience)) unfortunately my system layout has to change, and I need a more flexible link to achieve this. The arrangement with the Cyrus cable is not so flexible,..  But it's one of the finest cables in hifi, in my humble opinion (you'll just have to trust that I've heard a few before now) 

 It is what it is. 

 I paid £50 for the cable (£5 and a long wait for the adapter) a couple of years back, which wasn't too unreasonable. And I dare to ask for that back, as I stated, it sounds very very decent. Yeah, better than what I'll be replacing it with. If I can pull in some funds from elsewhere, I might actually change my mind about letting it go. (but find some money I must, atm) 

All straight lines and angles are approximate 😅 While the unit is tidy enough, it was built more with the purpose in mind than the aesthetic discipline (evidently). It's edges are all crisp and good, surfaces sanded to a fine grit and sealed with Danish oil.  You can feel it's woodiness, and it can tolerate an occasional moist wipe, win win. 

 Hopefully, when the replacement arrives, the Bantam Stealth will be for sale. If that might be of interest to anyone. It's a very good, inexpensive little digital amp, that runs on 24v (or 12, ish. Great, high efficiency, off grid, actual "hi-fi" kit. I thought I wanted to persue a life away from hi-fi, turns out I was mistaken. )
