A 1962 EL37 manufactured in the Blackburn Mullard Factory .

Rare matched quad of genuine Philips EL37 beam power output tubes. All four tubes have been tested strong and closely matched for transconductance and emission. Highly sought after by audiophiles and collectors for use in vintage hi-fi, mono-block, push-pull, and premium tube amplifier applications. Philips EL37 tubes are renowned for their rich, detailed sound and are closely associated with classic European audio

Most EL37 output pentode, uses an octal (8-pin) base, however it is quite common to find an EL37 with only 7 physical pins present because one of the octal pin positions is not internally connected and was sometimes omitted by the manufacturer.

For the EL37, the standard octal connections are:

* Pin 2 = Heater

* Pin 3 = Anode (Plate)

* Pin 4 = Screen Grid (G2)

* Pin 5 = Control Grid (G1)

* Pin 7 = Heater

* Pin 8 = Cathode / Suppressor

* Pin 1 = Metal shell connection (sometimes unused)

* Pin 6 = No connection (NC)

Because pin 6 is unused, some EL37s were manufactured with only 7 metal pins on the base. That is normal and does not necessarily indicate damage.

• The factory codes are etched in the bottom glass . These were manufactured in 1961 & 1962 at the Blackburn Mullard plant.
