Up for sale, a very early 1950 Ken-Rad 12AX7 tube. You'll have to google this version if you are unfamiliar, they seem to get pretty rave reviews among audio guys. I found this rummaging through my tube hoard the other day and set it aside since it seemed really early for the 12AX7 family.
As you can see, the box looks rather poor but the tube looks good and tests quite nicely. I don't think this has ever been used. The construction here has long plates and a D-getter with a unique pair of dimples in the getter foil. I expect this is an artifact of how this was manufactured.
See pics for cosmetics. I will send a test sheet with Amplitrex results along with the tube and box.
Note regarding testing: All tests are run in fixed bias which will produce the most conservative numbers. I feed the tester with a perfect 119.2V AC sine source of power which produces very consistent and accurate results.
This will come bagged with the test data and original box.
(Note: an online vendor sold through 5 of these on eBay at $250/pop that appeared NOS / hence the high price.)
