This Mermod Freres 1885 Swiss 6 Tunes 16" Cylinder Music Box is a charming and unique decorative collectible piece that would make a lovely addition to any collection. Handmade in Switzerland around 1885, this antique music box features a 16.25" cylinder size and dimensions of 29" in length, 11" in width, and 8" in height. Its intricate design and classic Swiss craftsmanship ensure both functionality and aesthetic appeal, making it a delightful and nostalgic gift for music lovers and collectors alike.

Missing the program sheet and interior glass. Functions smoothly and plays well. Could use a detail cleaning to remove oil and dust. Wood has some cracks as shown in the photos, two on the bottom, one on the lower back, and two on the interior of the lid. One of the inlays on the front has come up a hair. Some chipping and small surface splits on the lid. Corners have some scratches and light dents as shown in the photos. Jacot's Safety Check states Patd Sept, 22 1885 placing the production of this model close to that year. Key is not included, though locking mechanism does not appear to be installed.
