It is a beautiful flowering plant that grows best in bright indirect sunlight. It prefers cool temperature and should avoid high temperature. The optimum temperature for growth is 60-78°F, and the growth is stopped below 40°F. Likes rich, moist, and well-drained soil. Should avoid dry conditions. Clivia has a high ornamental value. • Rest period: In the fall and winter, give your clivia a rest period of about two months. During this time, keep the plant in a cool, dark, and dry location with temperatures between 40–55°F. Water sparingly, about once a month, and don't fertilize. 
• Flowering: When flower stalks appear, move the plant to a warmer location and water more frequently. Clivias typically bloom in late winter or early spring. 
• Temperature: Clivias can tolerate temperatures down to about 36°F, but they don't tolerate frost. 
• Light: Clivias grow best in bright daylight with little or no direct sun. You can place them in a north-facing window or in an east- or west-facing window that's partially shaded. 
• Watering: Water when the top of the soil feels dry. 
• Fertilizing: Feed regularly with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer. 
• Location: You can move potted clivias indoors for winter, or into an unheated basement or garage. You can move them back outdoors in the spring when temperatures warm up.
