A very old bible. The leather is worn, and falling apart in places. But the pages are in good condition.
Possibly dating to late 1800s. There is a hand written date of 1901 inside.
I have included all the bookmarks that were in the book when I found it. Hand written note in front. It has likely been in Canterbury since the 1960s where it came into my grandparents possession.
A significant feature is the series of full-colour maps at the rear, engraved by the renowned cartographer H. Courtier F.R.G.S. The maps remain vibrant and detail biblical geography from the Exodus to the New Testament. This Bible is a substantial example of 19th-century religious publishing.
