For sale is a vintage Jensen 12-inch field coil speaker, likely manufactured in 1941 based on EIA code 220135 (Jensen, 35th week). This is an early field coil design commonly used in radios, amplifiers, and organ systems.
Stamped markings include:
- 220135 (Jensen date code)
- 10655 F12N C5548
- 109
The speaker has been tested with a multimeter:
- Field coil measures approximately 4.4k ohms (between pins 1 and 7)
- Voice coil measures approximately 6.9 ohms (between pins 4 and 6)
Condition:
Speaker is in solid vintage condition overall but has a tear in the cone (see photos). Because of this, it is best suited for reconing or restoration. The basket shows some surface rust from age but remains structurally sound. The original multi-pin plug is present, which is often missing on these.
