Additional info: Refurbished MKI rehoused lenses go through all the checks, cleaning, and servicing where required. Mechanically they are excellent and cosmetically might have some signs of use, but nothing that would affect the usability in any way.

I purchased these lenses directly from Ironglass in February of this year and used them on one project. They are in the same condition that they arrived in from Ironglass. All lenses work as expected and are beautiful. I hate to sell them, but unfortunately I don't use them as often as I expected. These are vintage glass and if you are looking at them, you likely already know all about them. They are still under Ironglasse's warranty, but given that they are vintage, all of my sales are final.

MIR-1V 37mm F2.8

Warm, nostalgic, and unmistakably vintage. The MIR-1V is known for its expressive swirly bokeh, gentle edge falloff, and soft highlight bloom that gives the image a painterly quality.

Its rendering works especially well in natural light, where it produces smooth, diffused “buttery” flares and a slightly softened image that still retains structure. The result is a balanced look that feels organic without becoming overly stylized.

A versatile focal length between wide and normal, it’s well-suited for interiors, close-ups, and scenes where atmosphere plays a key role.

Helios 44-2 58mm F2

An iconic Soviet lens based on the classic Biotar optical design. The Helios 44-2 is defined by its pronounced swirly bokeh, strong central sharpness, and expressive falloff toward the edges of the frame.

Out-of-focus areas carry a dynamic, circular motion that adds energy and depth to the image, while highlights bloom into soft halos. The lens reacts actively to light, especially in backlit conditions, where flare becomes part of the visual language.

Often described as the “soul of the Soviet look,” it is widely used for portraiture, artistic compositions, and narrative work where image character plays a central role.

Jupiter-9 85mm F2

A classic vintage portrait lens with a soft, cinematic rendering. The Jupiter-9 delivers smooth subject separation, gentle contrast, and a natural falloff that feels cohesive and easy on the eye.

Highlights bloom subtly, creating a low-contrast glow around light sources, while skin tones appear warm and slightly softened without losing detail. The transition from focus to out-of-focus areas is gradual, avoiding harsh edges or artificial sharpness.

Tair 11-A 135mm F2.8

A longer focal length lens with a calm, controlled rendering. The Tair-11A provides strong compression and a clear sense of depth, while maintaining consistent sharpness in the center of the frame.

The background transitions into a smooth, even blur, without harsh edges or distracting artifacts. Flare behavior is subtle, contrast remains stable, and the overall image feels balanced and predictable.

Despite its telephoto reach, the lens retains a natural, human quality, making it suitable for portraiture, detail shots, and situations where clean subject isolation is needed without excessive stylization.
