Description: Excellent complete 18 volume set of the entire Talmud, Mishnah, and even the parts of the Mishnah to which no Talmud exists. This is the medium size edition of the entire Talmud. Includes important introductions and background explanation to the Talmud, Mishnah, and all it's sections. Includes a very nice Index volume. Printed in the Netherlands in the early 1960's.
Condition:The binding is superb with very little wear if any to cover edges. Crisp covers and very crisp and clean pages. No writing in interior. It seems that the volumes were not used too much and some just barely. A few pages here and there have minor folding, and some volumes show slight usage at page edges. Includes all the original dust covers except for the Index volume. Dust covers have rips and some small areas lacking at edges and some areas have been nicely repaired on the inside. Gilded top page edges as shown. Shipping cost includes insurance coverage.
Additional Comments: This 18 volume set is convenient and compact. Perfect for consistent studying, travel or occasional reference. This is the size which is suitable for a personal library, or a public library. As the volumes are not too large to take up space, yet still a very comfortable read. It is compact as far as the page thickness is concerned, albeit not suffering from content abridgment. This was made possible by using a higher quality paper, which is amenable to being thin, durable, and not ripping easily. Because of this the printers were able to fit many more pages into a smaller space.
