This item is:
- Walter Gieseking, (piano) with Alceo Galliera conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra
- Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5
- Extremely Rare Unissued UK Columbia 12" Stereo SAX, 2 x SINGLE SIDED TEST PRESSINGS, complete release
- Matrix: YAX 519-5 & YAX 520-1
- Records grade EX and EX-. Records look nice and clean, there's a hairline on side 1, and light background noise. Side 2 has a few small marks that cause some ticks, I'd grade this side EX- to VG+; if you look at the last photo you might be able to see these tiny marks.
- I believe recorded in stereo in September 1955 at Abbey Road Studios, London. Producer Walter Jellinek and Sound Engineer Douglas Larter
- This recording saw an lp release in Germany in the mid 1960's on Electrola and in France on SAXF 1038, but for some reason was never released in the UK.
- Records house in a generic HMV company sleeve in the original HMV "Use Emitex" sleeves with matrix numbers in pen, dated in pencil 6&7/10/60
- This is a test pressing and the audio may not be identical to the final release
