RCA RS189E Stereo Tube Amplifier Chassis - (3) 6BQ5, (4) 6CG7 (From PVCR-183)

The amplifier chassis was tested while still inside the console. It successfully powers up, but there is no sound output. Visually, some of the capacitors underneath the chassis appear bubbled or swollen, so the amplifier will almost certainly require a full recap to function safely and properly. It includes all tubes shown, though please note that one of the 6BQ5 power tubes has a cloudy appearance, indicating it has lost its vacuum and will likely need to be replaced. The chassis is cosmetically in good, clean vintage condition, and all front control knobs actuate smoothly. Some of the original vintage wiring feels sticky to the touch. The photo of the console diagram/console model is not included - for reference only. Please review all photos carefully to evaluate the exact cosmetic and physical condition. Sold strictly as-is for restoration, custom projects, or parts.
Up for sale is a vintage RCA RS189E tube amplifier chassis, carefully removed from an RCA Victor Victrola Model PVCR-183 console. This is a three-channel (trio) single-ended design featuring dedicated Left, Right, and Bass output channels.
- Tube Complement: (3) 6BQ5 power output tubes and (4) 6CG7 AF / Bass preamp driver tubes.
- Iron: Includes the heavy original power transformer and all three factory output transformers (Left, Right, and Bass) intact on the chassis.
The amplifier measures 13-3/4 x 9 x 4-3/4". It weighs 10 lbs 8 oz.
