M36 Elite Schutzst. XX Great Coat Green Collars Black Epaulettes & Kragenspiegel

Fantastic M36 elite great coat with black plain epaulettes.

There is no official size marking or manufacturer label so would be ideal for a display or general collection where size isn’t critical. If you are looking to wear then hopefully the following will help you determine whether this is right for you (I am unable to accept returns):

There is a size marked in black marker pen on the grey lining as 6’0 and 40”.

Back of neck to hem = 53”

I am 5’8” and the length seems a little too long so the 6’0 marked sounds right. I am 42-43” chest and it is tight with light clothing and pointless trying with a tunic. I would say the 40” marked for the chest is about right if you want to wear with a tunic. It really would be too tight if you are much over 40” unless you wore with something very light (remember it was tight for me with a 42” chest and a t-shirt).

Condition is very good. All buttons present. No holes in pockets. Nicely lined and very professionally made. I wondered whether it could be a post war military jacket for the early Bundeswehr or Polizei but I’m not sure if they made great goats with green collars after the war so am selling as a repro which is where I'd put my money. The Kragenspiegel (collar tabs) and epaulettes are nice. The arm eagle is wrong but I’ve left for you to decide whether to keep, remove or replace.
