DINITROL 977 Water-Based Cavity Protection

DINITROL 977 is a semi-transparent, water-based liquid anti-corrosion coating designed for the protection of cavity areas in cars, trucks, coaches, and other places where a rust preventative surface is needed. It can also be used for universal protection of machine parts.

The product is water-repellent and has excellent penetrating properties. After drying, it leaves a wax coating which has good temperature resistance up to approx. +120°C and is almost tack-free. When dried DINITROL 977 is heated by the sun or engine heat, it remains entirely odorless, unlike conventional cavity waxes.

Ideal Applications:
Apply as an anti-corrosion coating to protect vehicle cavity areas like doors, bonnets, cross members, and reinforcements. It is also an excellent general anti-corrosion product for:

• Automotive industry and body repair shops
• Garages and workshops
• Bus, coach, and trailer construction
• Metal industry and ship construction

Method of Use:
Shake well or stir thoroughly before use. The surfaces to be treated should ideally be free from loose corrosion, though applying over light corrosion, light moisture, or light oil is acceptable. DINITROL 977 can be applied with light airless spray equipment, an airmix pistol (2–5 bar air pressure), or by dipping. Depending on the application, it can be thinned with water. The product sprays haze-free and does not drip. Contaminated surfaces and equipment can be easily cleaned with water while the product is still fresh. Recommended application and product temperature is 15–30°C.

Pre-Treatment & Over-Coating:
Surfaces should be dry and clean. If applying a two-layer system, DINITROL 977 can be over-applied with DINITROL 958. When doing this, ensure the wet film thickness of DINITROL 977 is no more than 25 to 50 microns.
