Ridgeway Grandfather Clock Dial Movement Hermle 1151-053H Moon Phase Germany

This is an original mechanical movement and dial assembly from a Ridgeway grandfather clock. The piece includes a decorative brass-tone dial, a moving moon phase dial, a chain-driven mechanical movement, chains, ornate corner decorations, and the original Ridgeway Clocks owner’s manual.

The number 86 most likely indicates that the movement was produced around 1986. The movement was made by Franz Hermle, a well-known German clock movement manufacturer, and was used in Ridgeway grandfather clocks.

The front dial is marked Ridgeway and features a highly decorative brass-tone finish with raised Arabic numerals, engraved floral and scrollwork decoration, ornate corner spandrels, black decorative hands, and a moving moon phase arch at the top. The upper moon dial includes moon, globe, and ship imagery. The rear setup label shows factory or service information, including Dial 80, Model 224, Movement HP, Finish, and Setup 11038/6.

This is not a complete grandfather clock cabinet. It is the clock movement and dial assembly removed from, or intended for, a Ridgeway grandfather clock. It would be a good piece for restoration, replacement, repair, rebuilding a grandfather clock, or for parts.

The assembly appears visually complete, and the chains are included. The original Ridgeway owner’s manual is also included. The manual contains instructions for unpacking, setting up, hanging the pendulum, attaching the weights, setting the time, setting the moving moon dial, winding the clock, regulating fast and slow, chime selection, movement care, and other Ridgeway clock information.

Condition is vintage used. There are visible signs of age, storage, and previous installation, including scratches, surface marks, tarnish, patina, mounting marks, small stains, and general wear to the metal surfaces. The back plate and mounting areas show scratches and signs of previous use. The dial and decorative front remain attractive and display well, but they are not in new condition.

The movement has not been fully tested for long-term running, accuracy, chiming, or proper operation. Because it has not been fully serviced or tested, it is being sold as is, for parts, repair, or restoration.

Clock case, weights, pendulum, finial, and other cabinet parts are not included unless specifically shown or provided separately.
