Silstar Sounder Model 1202 7’ Length Saltwater Rod. This is a graphite composite rod which offers a distinct backbone and pulling power when fighting fish. This rod has been rewrapped with modern boat guides for minimal line friction and optimum casting ability. The guide sizes start at #30, which offers the flexibility to be able to effectively use Penn 114H and 349H type reels and cast long distances. The Penn 113H type reels also shine for distance casting on this rod. It offers foam grips for comfort and a graphite reel seat with stainless steel hoods. This is a multi-use secret weapon, so to speak; a rod with a lot of flexibility when it comes to types and methods of fishing. A factory rod from the outset, it now has the distinction of custom wrapped guides for a greater range of uses, like casting and longevity of guides, minimal line frays. The only flaw I can think of is not having been fished lately! The new owner hopefully remedies that minor dilemma.This rod has boated many rockfish, lingcod, mackerel, albacore, halibut, salmon, and flounder to name my favorites. The list is easily expanded.
