UltraLight - Laser Cut Balsa Wood with Carbon Fiber

The Feather² Squared glider comes with laser cut ribs, laser cut tail feathers ( rudder & elevator ), laser cut control horns and launch peg housing. Main boom is carbon fiber, with carbon fiber pushrods, carbon fiber leading edge and carbon fiber main wing spars. Both tail feathers have pre-cut control horn slots and hinge line.

No other radio control glider this size and scale will perform like the Feather² Squared. At a tender weight of 43-47 grams, attractive design with built-up wing ribs, catching thermals at your local park has never been easier. Flying the Feather² glider can be a very peaceful and relaxing experience. Gliding at slow speeds gives stability and plenty of time to react.

The Feather² Squared is a high performance discus launch micro F3k glider packed into a micro size floater. The perfect size trunk glider easy to carry that will soar in virtually any terrain. Over 40 minutes of continues flight on a single 1s 150mAh lipo battery.

Electronics:

For optimal performance, 1.7 gram micro servos should be used coupled with 1.5 to 2 gram micro receiver, and a 150mah 1s lipo battery. This auction is ONLY a kit version with no electronics. See my other listings for a full kit that will include all electronics. ( we only provide Spektrum DSM2 receivers, so you must have a Spektrum radio to be able to use our receivers.)

While one might assume that constructing model airplanes is a challenging task, the reality is that building them is quite straightforward, especially with the help of our step-by-step video build guide included with your kit. The building process only requires a few basic materials (sandpaper, glue, pliers, patience, etc.), and with just a few hours of dedication, you can become proficient at constructing your own Ultralight Feather DLG glider. Just follow along with the provided bulid video to build your own Feather RC discus launch glider.

If you are new to building, it is recommended to stick with the provided tissue covering method, as this is a very simple process. Tissue covering is provided with your kit.
If you live in a humid city, lamination film can be used with a heat iron. Mini heat irons work best with variable heat adjustment. Few brand names to choose from that may be purchased from ebay or amazon are: Clover Mini iron ii, Mini plancha para patch, Mini-Bügeleisen MB-3415, Ming Yang sealing tool Large heat iron/sealing iron will work as well, make sure to use low heat. Both irons must have cloth sock on head to prevent iron from sticking to lamination film. Regular cotton sock can be used.

Covering the wings with lamination is tricky as you must be careful not to over heat the film or your wings will warp, therefore you must be somewhat a seasoned builder if you wish to laminate your wings. Again it is recommended to use the provided tissue covering to prevent your wings from warping.
