Chromatic Low Whistle Head Joint With Student Flute Vertical By Nick Metcalf

The Chromatic Low whistle head joint is basically a low Whistle mouthpiece that pairs with a standard Boehm system flute body. This gives you a low whistle with a fully chromatic scale, and also allows you to play the instrument vertically instead of out to the side of your head like a normal flute. The design of this head joint has taken years of study and testing to perfect, as getting the tuning and intonation right was very tricky.

Please note that this head joint comes paired with a student model flute so you don’t have to worry about making sure it fits a flute you already have. I do sell the head joint alone in another listing.

I developed this head joint a few years back when the only other option out there was over $1k with a long waiting list. It took me months of research and designing to come up with a head joint that had good tuning and intonation in all the octaves. Since i made this, many other whistle makers and manufacturers have copied my design, most notably the flip head people. But those are mass produced and partly plastic. Many others make a whistle head joint but they have problems with the tuning between the octaves.
