The M1950 Yukon is a portable radiant space heater designed for use in a tent. This is the tent stove that was used starting with the Korean war and designed for heating tents and requires a smokestack (included) no higher than 8 feet. The M1950 Yukon can be used with white gasoline and may also be used to burn wood or coal, and has a heat output of 60,000 BTU.
This stove has seen minor use (with resulting surface rust only) and also has been modified by the previous owner to improve it, by adding fold out legs on the smokestack end. Since the smokestack does not appear to have been used, it is a guess that the additional legs were added to provide the support which is normally provided by the smokestack, so that the heater could be used without the need for a smokestack.
The pictures show the heater standing with the four legs extended and also pictures of the reinforcing plates that are brazed to the sides as part of the modification.
Most surfaces (except for the top and bottom surfaces and the end door) are covered with cosmoline. Look carefully, since the preservative has a rust color.
There is no information on the history of this heater.
Since so many people have looked at this heater on eBay, I went back and brightened the pictures so you can see more detail of the surfaces that are covered with preservative.

Manufactured in 1953 by the American Gas Machine Company (as stamped and shown in the pictures).
