Up for auction/sale is an incredibly rare, complete podium set of winner's medals (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) from the VIII Juegos Panamericanos (8th Pan American Games) held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1979. Complete three-medal sets from this era are exceptionally difficult to find together.
- Designer: Designed by the legendary Puerto Rican master artist Lorenzo Homar.
- Obverse (Front): Features a beautifully detailed, high-relief athletic torchbearer running past the historic stylized fortress walls of San Juan. Boldly embossed with "VIII JUEGOS PANAMERICANOS".
- Ribbon: Each medal retains its original, vibrant multi-colored vertical striped ribbon matching the official 1979 games branding.
- Specifications: Approximately 67 mm in diameter.
- Note: These are genuine vintage items from 1979. They show light signs of age consistent with historical memorabilia.
- Gold Medal: Composed of 120 Grams of solid Silver, layered with genuine Gold gilding (vermeil). Beautiful luster, edges show some wear. (Please see photos for closer detail).
