 The **C.T. Wallis Bates Style Frameset** is a fine example of traditional British artisan frame building. Produced in limited numbers during the 1980s and 1990s, these bespoke steel frames combine classic styling with exceptional craftsmanship and are increasingly appreciated by collectors.

 Independent frame builder **Chris (C.T.) Wallis** built each frame to order, tailoring geometry, tubing, fittings, and finish to the individual rider. Rather than mass-producing bicycles, Wallis followed the traditions established by Britain's master craftsmen.

 His greatest influence was **E.G. Bates**, whose beautifully engineered racing bicycles became famous from the 1930s onwards. Bates pioneered the innovative **Cantiflex** frame design and the distinctive **Diadrant** fork, both developed to improve comfort, steering precision, and road holding. Combined with elegant hand-filed lug work and signature curly seat stays, these features established Bates as one of Britain's most respected frame builders.
