Vintage Zenith royal 500 transistor radio c 1950s

classic radio for collectors, it displays well & is working with good volume it runs on 4 AA batteries am receiver only

I will go over a number of  points with this radio so you can get a better idea of condition

the battery door has lost one of its support lugs & the two small tiny plastic pins to help hold in place used as hinge however once screw is used holds in place , the top of case has some small chips & base of rear case is bit lose when closed may have had some small lugs missing ?   however it still holds when screw is used , the volume  on/off switch is faulty will not switch on or off  so this would need replacing if you can find the correct one ?   I bridged the switch so is always switched on so radio can be played, it uses socket transistors so the legs are not soldered , now comes the strange thing one of the transistors is faulty causing lot of interference with sound  I removed it but the radio still works without it  will enclose  for ref, some wear to brass plating to trim & light rust to metal stand  the cream plastic case is fair for age it comes with leather case the brass flap holder needs two small rivets as detached from case it also has some staining to bottom but overall still not bad for age, so I'm selling more for display than use ,  Royal mail postage to buyers address only I don't  use (click & collect to lockers ) Thanks for looking
