Vintage Siemens Mid Century Industrial PA Speaker Cabinet Germany c1960's RTC

Listing: 1 x Siemens speaker cabinet circa 1950's / 1960's with a vintage RTC replacement estimated to be from 1960's / 1970's.

Condition: Used, vintage condition. No original packaging, no instructions. Untested. This item has a 3 pin vintage plug, not a UK standard modern plug. The outer casing is estimated to be from the 1950's / 1960's. The RTC part is likely a vintage replacement, dating to the 1960's / 1970's. There is surface wear, surface marks and some discoloration. There are some dents into the front metal. The top handle is broken.

Description: Offered is a vintage Siemens freestanding loudspeaker cabinet believed to date to the late 1950's or early 1960's.

This is a heavy, well-built steel and wood cabinet finished in its original light green paint with the original Siemens badge and metal grille. It has a great mid-century industrial appearance and would appeal to collectors of vintage audio, German electronics, or industrial design.

The cabinet contains a replacement RTC (Made in Japan) 15-ohm / 20-watt speaker, rather than what is believed to have been the original Siemens driver. The original Siemens matching transformer and vintage 3-pin connector appear to still be installed, suggesting it was originally used as an extension speaker in a Siemens 100-volt public address system for a school, church, factory, office, or other commercial installation.

The plug - the connector on this is not a wall plug and it is a vintage, not modern connector. This 3 pin style, is a vintage Siemens / Bosch-style 3-pin loudspeaker connector. Used on commercial speaker systems in the 1950's and 1960's. This would have connected to a Siemens public address amplifier, wall mounted speaker outlet inside a building, a junction box. 

A unique piece of German industrial audio history that would display well or make an interesting restoration project.
