상품 설명
A classic East German Pentacon 50mm f/1.8 Multi Coating lens – a well-known vintage prime that’s popular for its soft rendering, strong character, and pleasing bokeh. These are widely used on mirrorless cameras for portrait work and creative photography, especially when chasing that vintage look.
Despite some age-related internal issues (see below), this example still produces usable and characterful images, as shown in the sample photos provided.
Lens Details:
Brand: Pentacon
Model: Auto Multi Coating
Focal Length: 50mm
Aperture: f/1.8
Mount: M42 screw mount
Made in: East Germany
Mechanical Condition:
Focus ring working
Aperture ring working
Aperture blades open and close
Auto/manual switch working
Overall mechanically usable
Physical Condition:
Good vintage condition
Light age-related marks to the body
Mount is in good condition
Filter thread appears intact
Optical Condition:
No obvious major scratches to front or rear elements
Noticeable internal fungus / mould visible under torch test (see photos)
Dust present internally (moderate level)
Important: The fungus is clearly visible under strong light but does not appear to severely impact general shooting in normal conditions. Images still come out with good character, though contrast may be slightly reduced in certain lighting.
Additional Notes:
This is a great candidate for someone wanting a vintage look on a budget, or potentially for someone considering a clean/service. Alternatively, it works well as-is for artistic photography where perfection isn’t required.
Testing:
Tested on Sony A7 IV via M42 adapter
Adapter not included
Test photos included in listing
Lens produces usable images with nice rendering and bokeh
Torch Test:
A torch test has been carried out and photographed. This is a very harsh test designed to highlight internal dust, haze, fungus, or marks that are often not visible during normal use. As expected, this makes internal issues appear more pronounced than they typically are in real-world shooting.
This assessment is provided as a helpful guide to assist potential buyers in understanding the item’s condition. It reflects our observations during basic inspection and testing. Some aspects of vintage equipment can be subjective, and minor issues may not always be immediately apparent.
Buyers should therefore rely primarily on the listing photographs and make their own judgment before purchase. Any defects noted during inspection will be highlighted where possible.
Sold as seen.
