Voice of Music Model 1428 Stereo Integrated Amplifier. This is from an Estate Sale. A HiFi collector had this sitting on a shelf. It works perfectly and sounds very nice. It has had some work done. The coupling capacitors are updated. One of the can Electrolytics has been replaced with discrete new electrolytics which has jumped the storage capacity.
Yes, the middle knob is not original. I know, it looks good but the people at the Estate sale actually lost the original knob and couldn't find it. If you can locate an original knob somewhere I'll tip my hat. I've had no luck there.
This is the larger model. There's a smaller Model 1448 that uses 6BM8 or something for the output section. This guy uses 6BQ5 for a full 15 watts a side. These are rather hard to find. I could not locate a schematic on the web. I'm sure they must be out there if you're resourceful.
Usually when I pack a unit I pull the tubes, wrap them individually, and pack them inside the cover. This unit though is something of a bear to open and reassemble. I'm perfectly willing to either ship as previously described or leave it as it is and deeply pack the unit intact. It's the choice of the buyer if you want to take the whole thing apart and reassemble. This thing is built like a tank. Solid like a rock.
