The SX-3700 is an AM/FM stereo receiver first made circa 1980 — considered part of the “classic” era of hi-fi gear from Pioneer.

It uses a “DC power amplifier” design which helps deliver clean analog sound without coupling capacitors — this helps preserve stereo imaging and audio fidelity.

It has a distinct, desirable vintage look: brushed-aluminum faceplate and the iconic “Fluoroscan” meter / tuning display — the glowing blue meters are often a big selling point for collectors.
