Offered here is an exceptionally complete and original WWII U.S. Army Officer’s Field Mess Chest, manufactured by Herkert & Meisel Trunk Co. under U.S. Army Quartermaster contract during World War II.
This is a true officer’s mess chest, not a partial grouping. The chest retains its original olive drab finish, original interior wooden storage system, original hardware, original keys, and period paperwork. It presents exactly as intended for transport and field use.
