Vintage Lafayette Model LA-55 tube amplifier from a local estate sale.
This amplifier is being sold strictly for parts, repair, or restoration. I did not plug it in or attempt to power it up because the original power cord is very old, cracked/frayed, and should be replaced before any testing. I did not want to risk damage, electrical shock, or a fire.
The unit appears to have tubes inside, as shown in the photos, but I have not tested the tubes and cannot guarantee that any of them are good. I also have no way to test the amplifier itself, so please assume it will need service before use.
Cosmetic condition is exactly as shown. The outside has not been cleaned. There is dirt, age discoloration, scratches, scuffs, wear to the case, wear around the knobs and faceplate, and general estate-found surface wear. The front still displays nicely for its age, but this is not a cleaned or restored unit.
Marked Model LA-55 on the front. This is a vintage Lafayette tube amplifier and would be a good candidate for someone who restores vintage tube audio equipment, needs parts, or collects Lafayette vintage electronics.
Because this is an old tube amplifier with an unsafe original cord and unknown operating condition, it is being sold as is, for parts/repair/restoration only.
