General Electric 8” FieldCoil Speaker, 475 ohms, with output trans, HamEstate

This is one of a number of vintage tube  radios, chassis, speakers etc.  that I have sold starting last year to happy enthusiasts. I will be selling more from this estate through the end of this year.  They all were from the estate of a ham enthusiast who rebuilt communication receivers over the years along with many other tube type radios and test equipment.

This is an original 1930s 8 inch General Electric electrodynamic field‑coil speaker used in a number of 1930s radios requiring a field coil speaker.  It has an OutPut transformer on the speaker .  Both the field coil and OP transformer showed good readings with an ohmmeter (see photos)

The speaker was found in the Ham’s storage area and is labeled GE T-stone so likely meant it came from a tombstone radio.

This  electrodynamic moving‑coil loudspeaker uses a DC‑energized field coil instead of a permanent magnet

As I stated, this  is most likely from a GE or RCA/GE‑built tombstone or console radio, where the speaker, field coil, and output transformer were all part of the power/speaker assembly.

A quick test with DMM shows field coil tests good but can’t guarantee electronics this old .

Speaker will be  securely packed and boxed  in a shipping box for safety.
