"Grieving Angel" – Bronze Tabletop Sculpture, Early to Mid-19th Century

A rare and moving bronze sculpture titled "Grieving Angel," dating from the early to mid-19th century. 

Height: 12 cm.

This delicate tabletop piece is notable for its unique and functional design. It appears to serve as a miniature memorial, likely intended to honor the memory of a lost loved one — a parent, spouse, or child. In place of the small inserted icon (which I added arbitrarily), one could place a photograph of someone dear and unforgettable.

The sculpture is an antique and quite rare. It was likely gilded originally. Based on the style of the securing nut, it may even date from the early 19th century. It has not been cleaned; the patina is original and untouched.

A poignant and beautiful reminder of love and memory.
